Some casting indeed!
I had a chance to finally sit down and get to making a mold to cast some block ships, coastal motor boats and motor launches. Ross Mac had mentioned to me last year that he had great success with this Alumilite kit so I decided to give it a go.
Here we have the three hulls glued into position before the pour of silicon. Left C.M.B., middle block ship, and right Royal Navy Motor Launch. All the stacks, masts, etc. are add on to ease the (casting in resin process) once this mold has cured. The kit comes with all the goodies and you cast with a two part resin that is mixed and poured into the mold.
A couple of block ships in the foreground for Man the Rails. The last six weeks has seen my wife and myself; moving the folks, selling their house, and I have a renovation project going on for my widowed mother. I had to rip her shower apart and redo it as she had mold growing in the walls. Nice to be in the man cave today!
